Spiritual Care Counselor Opportunity

From our Friends at Faith Aloud:

Do you have expertise in spiritual or pastoral care? Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity where you can provide radically compassionate, unbiased, and judgment-free support to others? Or do you know someone who is?

Apply to become a Faith Aloud Spiritual Care Counselor and join a community making a real difference in people’s lives! We’re accepting applications until Friday August 16th, but early applications are encouraged and interviews will be on a rolling basis.

The Faith Aloud Spiritual Care Line takes calls from all over the United States and Canada, supporting people in their decisions and experiences related to pregnancy, parenting, abortion, adoption, miscarriage, infertility, and more. We understand that pregnancy experiences and religious beliefs can be deeply personal and complex. At Faith Aloud, callers can reach a Spiritual Care Counselor to join them in their process — free from judgment, full of support, and with compassion for the spiritual themes and conflicts that may arise before, during, and even long after making pregnancy decisions.

The 2024 Fall Faith Aloud volunteer training will begin on September 11 and end on October 7. This four-week training includes virtual sessions on Monday and Wednesday from 3:00pm - 5:00pm ET / 12:00 - 2:00pm PT, as well as self-study between sessions.

Faith Aloud Spiritual Care Counselors hold a diverse background of experiences, from current and graduated seminary students to active and retired ministers and chaplains. As we work toward having a group of counselors that reflect the diversity of lived experiences of our callers, we're especially interested in applicants who are Black, Indigenous, people of color, people who have Spanish language fluency, and folks who identify within the LGBTQIA community.

Thank you for your commitment to supporting people in all of their decisions, feelings, and experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption!
