Phone Support Volunteers for Pregnant People

Are you interested in community care and ready to provide radically compassionate, unbiased, and judgment-free support to others? These remote call-line volunteer roles are the perfect way to plug in.

Applications will close Tuesday, February 13th at 11:59pm PT.

Commitment: Once trained, advocates are asked to commit to 3 shifts (3-4 hours each) and to attend 1 virtual meeting per month for at least 1 year.

Training: The online Talkline Advocate training is a 30-hour intensive that delves into All-Options’ unique approach to supporting people in ALL of their pregnancy and parenting experiences. The 2024 Spring Talkline training will begin March 4th and end on April 10th. The 6-week training includes virtual classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00pm – 5:00pm ET, as well as weekly practice sessions (40-80 mins) and self-study between classes.

All Options is a nationwide organization that “uses direct service and social change strategies to promote unconditional, judgment-free support for people in all of their decisions, feelings, and experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption.” They provide a full-spectrum approach, including the following services:

  • All-Options Talkline offers free peer counseling to callers from anywhere in the US or Canada. Simply call 1-888-493-0092 for open-hearted support regarding abortion, adoption, infertility, parenting, and pregnancy loss.

  • All-Options Pregnancy Resource Center provides free pregnancy tests, peer counseling, condoms, diapers, baby clothes, abortion funding, and referrals to all kinds of local resources in Bloomington, Indiana.

  • The Faith Aloud Clergy Counseling Line offers spiritual and religious support through abortion or pregnancy experiences. Trained clergy from diverse faith background are available at 1-888-717-5010.

  • Pregnancy Options Workshops support providers, advocates, and students in exploring their values, unpacking biases, and building skills for judgment-free counseling and all-options referrals.
