Many racial disparities in the St. Louis region have their origins in federal housing and transportation policies, which interacted with local planning decisions to create the urban form that we see today. This presentation will offer the perspectives of three native St. Louisans, two urban planners and one former resident of the greater Ville neighborhood to describe the lasting impacts of policy choices in past decades. Portions of the presentation will draw on a soon-to-be-released transportation equity analysis commissioned by the East-West Gateway Council of Governments.
