This past November, Missouri became the first state to end a near-total abortion ban at the ballot box. With Amendment 3 now in effect, it is our Clinic Escorts, and those ready to join our growing volunteer Escort base, who will help ensure that patients can access abortion care at clinics across the region.
For over 35 years, Abortion Action Missouri Clinic Escorts have been on the front lines of helping pregnant people access their appointments in St. Louis and southern Illinois. Clinic Escorts support patients arriving for their appointments, playing a critical role in providing both a physical sense of security and a calming presence for patients who must face a line of aggressive anti-abortion protesters.
With more than 400 active volunteers, we have reinstated coverage in St. Louis with the passage of Amendment 3, and continue to service our two partner clinics in southern Illinois.
With Amendment 3’s legal implementation in process, Missouri clinics are poised to resume abortion care. In the meantime, we are preparing to meet the moment by building out our volunteer base across the state so that patients everywhere have someone safe and supportive to walk with them.
Your support is crucial to ensure Missouri has the dedicated volunteers to provide a calm, comforting presence and make certain that patients can access their appointments.
While Legislative Session always comes with challenges, in 2025–with abortion rights and reproductive freedom enshrined in our Constitution–we’re stepping into a unique offensive position after years of playing defense. That means that we are the ones holding our elected officials accountable TO THE LAW, ensuring they preserve the newly established rights to bodily autonomy Missourians tirelessly fought for and won. Amendment 3 was just the beginning: now our Missouri-grown movement carries the torch to protect the future we deserve.

Join Abortion Action Missouri, Planned Parenthood Great Rivers Action, Planned Parenthood Great Plains Action, the ACLU of Missouri, and PROMO for a special day of action on Wednesday, January 22 in Jefferson City. As politicians begin their work for the 2025 legislative session, we need to show them that people across Missouri are ready to take action to defend the Reproductive Freedom we enshrined in our state Constitution with Amendment 3.
