Volunteer Training: North City Photo ID Project

Volunteer Training: North City Photo ID Project

The passage of HB 1878 in 2022 decreases access to voting, disproportionately impacting communities of color, people experiencing homelessness, the elderly and homebound, people with disabilities, and low-income Missourians. In addition to access to the ballot, a valid photo ID provides access to other services and basic human needs, including: housing, employment, banking/credit, health insurance, public benefits, education and more.

Through the North City Photo ID Project, the Ashrei Foundation offers assistance to Missouri residents by offering guidance on the process of applying for a Missouri non-driver photo identification card, including acquiring the required documentation. For many people, this means obtaining a certified copy of their birth certificate. The Ashrei Foundation will also cover the cost of obtaining this kind of ID and a birth certificate issued anywhere in the United States.

This training will prepare volunteers to assist Missouri residents in applying for a photo ID. It will be offered virtually, in English only. There is no cost to participate. Please register to obtain the Zoom information.

PS. Can’t make it on January 26? This training will be recorded and shared on our YouTube page for you to access on your own time!
