Volunteer Training Opportunities:
Rapid Response Hotline Operator Volunteers, 6:00-7:00 pm
Individuals will answer phone calls remotely using an app on your personal smart phone; call scripts are available to assist you, in addition to other resources. Volunteers will also participate in a Signal App group chat and will utilize online forms to report interactions. Volunteers must be bilingual (Spanish-English) to participate. Other languages are welcome and encouraged to attend this training and serve in an “on call” capacity to be engaged as needed.
IFER Fund Volunteers, 7:00-8:00 pm
Individuals will work in teams to coordinate and deliver cash awards to recipients of the Immigrant Family Emergency Response (IFER) Fund. The IFER Fund is designed to provide direct cash assistance to immigrant and mixed status families impacted by immigration enforcement. Volunteers must be prepared to communicate using the Signal App and follow reporting requirements to ensure the delivery is successful. Teams may include monolingual English-speakers and bilingual volunteers; you are not required to be bilingual to serve in this role.
