Nationwide Rallies Demand Accountability as Trump is Expected to Be Arraigned for Role in Jan. 6 Attack on the Nation’s Capitol and for Election Interference in Georgia
On August 2, a grand jury in Washington, D.C, indicted former president Donald J. Trump for conspiring to defraud the United States, conspiring to disenfranchise voters, and conspiring and attempting to obstruct an official proceeding. The charges stem from Trump’s attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election. You can read the full 45-page indictment here.
The freedom to vote is a fundamental right. We’re rallying for accountability. No American, not even a former president, should be above the law. The threat to our democracy is not over. We call on lawmakers to hold the former president accountable, to block voter suppression measures, and ensure protections for election officials.
