From our partners at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri:
Join Legal Services of Eastern Missouri on Thursday, November 21, 2024 for a Special Breakfast Forum to celebrate 50 years of the Legal Services Corporation. This event will be held at the Missouri Athletic Club’s historic downtown St. Louis location.
Established by the US Congress in 1974, The Legal Services Corporation’s (LSC) mission is to promote equal access to justice in our nation and to provide high quality civil legal assistance to low-income persons. As a nonprofit organization and the largest funder of civil legal aid in the country, the LSC directly funded legal aid in every state in the US in 2020, which helped 1.8 million people nationwide.
This event will feature breakfast and a special panel discussion about the state of legal aid in America today.
We are excited to welcome LSC President Ronald Flagg and American Bar Association President Bill Bay to lead this panel discussion, alongside retired Missouri Supreme Court Justice George W. Draper, III, representing the judiciary, and Karen Nelson Warren, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s Associate Director of Administration and Community Outreach, to share community perspectives.
This discussion will be moderated by Rachel Lippmann, Justice Correspondent with St. Louis Public Radio.
This panel discussion is expected to be eligible for 1.0 hours of Missouri CLE credits.
SAVE THE DATE NOW – REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT WILL OPEN IN SEPTEMBER.
